Cut off a dread for charity

My name is Jocelyn and I'm a 25 year old with community in Wangaratta and Melbourne. I'm finishing up a Bachelor of Arts (Translation) and am really passionate about making life better for women around the world.

I've been inspired by the hard work that is being done by people working with trafficked women and I really want to support that work. I've had my dreadlocks for over 6 years and have always been too attached to them to chop them all off - but 6 years is a long time and I think I'm ready now, so I am now raising money for Asha India by chopping them all off.

People are buying individual dreads for $50 each, some people are choosing to keep their dread and some are leaving it to me. I have 66 dreads so I am hoping to raise $3300 before New Years when I plan to cut them off.

I will hold an event for the grand chop, however haven't got details yet, there is a facebook group and I will put event details up when I know them. For more information about anything, I can be contacted through the facebook group or at groovyjoss@gmail.com
